The Waverley Old Time Country Music Acoustic Group had our annual Hoedown weekend on the 19th, 20th & 21st August. The weekend was a huge success and donations were made to the Waverley Fire Brigade and the Waverley Baptist Church’s Sunday School.
The performers came from far and near, and the music flowed over the weekend. There were lots of faces smiling, feet tapping and some very talented performers singing and playing. One such performer was a shy man called Jeremy from Eltham. He is multi talented and it was a privilege to hear him perform on his Irish Harp. We hope he comes back again soon.
Cliff and I would like to thank the people who come to support us on our group days and annual Hoedowns. Some travel great distances and spend money in this town. This community is friendly and giving; this is demonstrated when the people came through the door at the Baptist Church each month. We would love to see more Waverley people come as the higher proportion we have are from out of town. So, if you are free come and join us or listen, when on the first Saturday of each month at 1pm. We have a lovely country music family.
