Waverley Primary Hockey

Waverley Primary had two teams entered the Wanganui Hockey competitions played on a Wednesday afternoon on the artificial turf.
The Kiwi Stick team which played 6 aside on a 1/4 turf had a great season making the Final and finishing 2nd overall out of 14 teams. They played a total of  13 games, won 8 and lost 5. They scored 41 goals and had 19 against. Top Goal scorers: Charlotte Lawrence – 12 and Jane Lennox – 11
The Maxi Stick team which played 8 aside on 1/2 turf also did well in their 18 team competition. This young team will be able to play again next year in the same competition finishing a credible 5th overall. They played 12 games, won 5, drew 2 and lost 5. They scored 26 goals and had 22 against. Top Goal scorers: Anthony Hartland-Hunt – 10 and Tom Jones – 9.
